Changes at the Riding Stables
Pam Ashworth is moving to her own yard and will leave Queen Mary's at the end of this term. All the current hunter liveries and other non-school horses will move with Pam to her new yard. Robert Blane has agreed to run the Queen Mary's Equestrian Centre, and will work with Val and Kelly who will remain. Robert Blane will be employed directly by the school, and will concentrate on children's riding. Robert Blane is Chief Instructor of the Bedale and West of Yore Pony Club, sits on the National Pony Club council, is National Chairman of Pony Club Endurance, and Chairman of the West of Yore Hunt Supporters. He is a successful Eventer, Show Jumper, dressage, point to point and Endurance rider. He is qualified BHSI. He ran the Northallerton Equestrian Centre from 1998 to 2001. He is a very experienced teacher who has produced many successful teams for the BWY Pony Club.
The detail of how the equestrian centre will be run will be worked out over the next few weeks. The interests of the children will always come first.
In due course we shall find a way of thanking Pam for the 15 years she has put into riding at Queen Mary's. She will be a hard act to follow, but in Robert Blane we believe we have found a dedicated, committed and highly professional successor. Val and Kelly also will continue to make sure your children are looked after kindly and safely.
