Summer Term 2010 - Music Diary
Thursday, April 22nd at 2.15 pm – House Music competition in the Great Hall. Unfortunately, due to lack of space, only relatives of soloists may attend this.
Thursday, April 29th at 1.15 pm – Chapel Choir lunchtime recital (ends c2.00) in Ripon Cathedral.
Saturday, May 1st at 7.30 pm – The annual Music Award Holders and Chapel Choir charity concert. We are very fortunate that this year the concert is to be given in the Quire of York Minster, by kind permission of the Dean and Chapter. Some tickets for early birds are available from the School Office (£8 & £5 concessions, with under accompanied 16s free, to include refreshments afterwards in the Chapter House). Thereafter the Minster Box Office will be selling tickets in advance (0844 939 0015, www.boxoffice.yorkminster.org) or at the door. Just to see the wonderful Chapter House is worth the entrance fee alone! There will be a retiring collection for York Minster Music and Calm Africa.
Friday, May 21st at 11.00 am – Middle Choir take part in the Wharfedale Festival in Ilkley.
at 7.00pm – Evening Concert in the Great Hall. (drinks and nibbles from 6.30)
Tuesday/Thursday, May 25th/27th at 7.00 pm – Year 7 production of The Pirates of Penzance.

Wednesday, June 16th at 5.30 pm – Junior Choir sing Evensong in Ripon Cathedral.
As always, Miss Shepherdson will be sending out details of these two events.
Friday, June 18th at 7.00 pm – Evening Concert, to include GCSE Composition world premieres, in the Great Hall. (drinks and nibbles from 6.30). To celebrate the arrival of the new piano the concert will include performances from old girls.
Thursday, July 8th at 7.30 pm – In a concert at Holy Trinity church, Ripon, the Chapel Choir sing Andrew Carter’s Missa Brevis, S3 Music Scholars Faye Parkes (viola), Cecilia Bidie (recorder) and Emily Hill (flute) play concerto movements and Senior Choir perform Pergolesi’s Magnificat, all accompanied by the Topcliffe Chamber Orchestra. Tickets £8 (£5 concessions) are available from the Office after half term. This date has been chosen not to clash with the World Cup, should we still have a playing interest!
Friday, July 9th at 7.00 pm – Final Night Rock Band bash.
